On the Farm

In addition to the production animals on our homestead we also have pets and helpers that give us companionship and entertainment as we go about our days.  Keep reading to meet all of them and check back every now and then for updates.

Arte is a happily retired Paso Fino stallion out of Plebeyo and Demsia que tal.  He was shown as a youth but spent most of his early years producing beautiful babies.  At 33 he is still a handsome guy with an awesome gait.  His son, Paso-Bilities Aristeo "Boo Boo", was his companion for the last 10 years but passed away in March of 2022 at the age of 25.  Arte keeps busy sampling grass from all around the farm and keeping an eye on all of the new additions (pigs, chickens, etc.) we've added.

Knight is the definition of "good boy".  He's a Doberman with floppy ears, the first half of our farm name and a tireless guardian of the homestead.  He patrols the perimeter of the property and keeps our air space clear from hawks, eagles, herons, and geese.  When he's not on duty he enjoys naps, treats, his stuffed bunny, and his people.

Tumnus is a dapper little Shih Tzu  who is now a little over 15.  In his younger years you could find him playing with "Mr. Squeaky" (his stuffed octopus) and dozens of other toys.  He had the odd habit of finding things and hiding them.  Missing the scotch tape?...scissors?...pen?...start looking for Tumnus and his stash.  Tumnus was also the name behind our previous business...Tumnus, LLC.  His current hobbies are breakfast, nap, dinner, and bed.  We are privileged to take care of the little guy in his sunset years.

Tyrion was orphaned at 2 weeks of age and became our very spoiled bottle-fed singleton.  Though he's a house cat he likes to venture out into the yard right next to the house and pretend he can exist in the wild.  He's actually an excellent mouser and, I'm sure, dreams of bigger game.
